The wait is finally over for Nigerian students. The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially announced the release of the results for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal.
In a statement released earlier today, the examination body confirmed that results have been fully processed and uploaded to the NECO portal. Candidates who sat for the 2026 examination can now access their results online.

Performance Statistics: A Breakdown
According to the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, the 2026 examination saw a significant improvement in performance compared to previous years.
Total Candidates: A total of 1,378,048 candidates registered for the examination, comprising 682,352 males and 695,696 females.
Of the registered candidates, 1,371,992 sat for the examination, including 678,903 males and 693,089 females. The council also reported that 1,334 candidates with special needs participated in the 2026 SSCE.
Performance: NECO said 804,948 candidates, representing 58.67 percent, obtained at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
The council also disclosed that 1,162,118 candidates, representing 84.70 percent, obtained five credits and above irrespective of their performance in English language and Mathematics.
Malpractice: On examination malpractice, NECO said 1,406 candidates were booked for various offenses in the 2026 examination.
The figure represents a 63.7 percent decrease compared with the 3,878 candidates booked for malpractice in 2025.
How to Check Your NECO 2026 Result
Follow these simple steps to check your results via the official NECO portal:
Visit the Portal: Go to the official NECO results page at
results.neco.gov.ngEnter Details: Input your Exam Year (2026), Exam Type (Choose SSCE Internal from the drop-down menu.) and your Token (scratch card PIN).
Enter Registration Number: Carefully input your Registration Number.
Submit: Click on the "Check Result" button.
View/Print: Your result details will appear on the screen. You can print a copy for your records.
Note: You will need a NECO result token (scratch card) to access the portal. If you do not have one, you can purchase it from authorized vendors or online via the NECO website.
